Hewitson Limited was appointed by Morgan Sindall Infrastructure to deliver the groundworks for Seaton Delaval Station, forming part of the wider Northumberland Line upgrade. This development marked our third project with Morgan Sindall Infrastructure under Network Rail conditions and centred on the construction of a new station car park. 

The initial phase of the works involved bulk earthworks, which proved especially challenging due to adverse weather conditions. Despite this, our site team successfully maintained programme momentum through proactive planning and effective resource coordination. 

Further elements of the scheme included foundations, drainage, external slabs, and hard landscaping to support the new facility. Working within live rail infrastructure conditions, we ensured compliance with strict programme and safety requirements throughout delivery. 

Seaton Delaval Station was completed on time, meeting all key programme milestones. The project strengthened our established working relationship with Morgan Sindall Infrastructure and reinforced our reputation as a reliable delivery partner in the rail infrastructure sector.
